In all forms of dance, precision and achievement cannot be gained quickly; it must be motivated, nurtured, and directed. Faculty members of the Montgomery Ballet School have performed in international dance companies, earned degrees in dance from major universities, and have years of experience teaching the art of dance. The official school of Montgomery Ballet provides unparalleled excellence in training and offers performance opportunities throughout the year, including the holiday classic, The Nutcracker. Students also have an option to perform in the Montgomery Ballet School's annual springtime production at the Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts.

The Montgomery Ballet school year coincides with the Montgomery area's public schools, with two months off in the summer months. Students are offered an opportunity to bolster their dance education and training in summer, however, by enrolling in our Fairytale Ballet Camp for the young ones, our annual Summer Camp for all ages/levels or in Performing in America International Workshop for more experienced dancers.

Registration

Registration is ongoing throughout the school year. You may register by mail, email, fax, or by stopping by the Montgomery Ballet office. Click here to download a printable school registration form.

Placement

Students will be placed in a class appropriate for their age and level of physical and/or technical ability. Class placement is subject to change at the discretion of the Artistic Director. Students who have never danced before or have taken a break from dancing will attend a placement class to be evaluated by the Montgomery Ballet's Artistic Director. This ensures correct class placement for the student's age and skill level.

The Montgomery Youth Ballet

The training of a talented and motivated student does not end with dance class. The mastering of classical ballet technique requires an investment in musicality, formations, spacing, and understanding stage direction. The Montgomery Ballet offers dedicated students an opportunity to audition and perform for the Montgomery Youth Ballet. This ensemble provides students ages 10-18 with additional learning opportunities and stage skills in actual rehearsals and performances with the Montgomery Ballet Company.
