An accomplished Graphic, Scenic and Fine Artist, Seay Earehart has been designing Sets for the past 5 seasons of Montgomery ballet. Originally from Beckley, West Virginia he graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh with a degree in Visual Communications and took additional courses thru Carnegie Mellon University before moving to Boston, MA. For independent studies with artisans he admired. After working for 4 years as an award winning graphic designer and editorial artist with Gannett Newspapers. He left to pursue interests in Acting and the Fine arts. As award winning Fine artist his drawings and paintings can be found in over 200 corporate and private collections across the US including EXXON Corporation, Broadcast Music Industries, James Earl Jones, Reba McIntire, and The permanent collections of the States of West Virginia and Tennessee. He has received over 50 national and international awards In 1985 Seay began working as a Scenic design/Artist under master Scenic J.R. Wears with Theater West Virginia and moved to Tennessee where he became a freelance designer doing Music Videos and Films. In 1998 he moved to Alabama to be Scenic Charge Artist for the Alabama Shakespeare Festival where he also designed sets for two productions and taught childrens Acting classes as well as Scenic workshops. He became a freelance designer in 2004 to pursue film and Dance projects. His most recent projects were as Scenic Specialist at the Alley Theater in Houston, TX. For The Broadway Musical Preview of “An American in Paris” where he built and carved the 16 ft tall Twin Fountain for the finale, Paint Foreman for the movie “Mardi Gras”, Filmed in New Orleans and scheduled for a spring 2009 release, Scenic Artist and sign painter for John Sayles Film “The HoneyDripper” , and Scenic Charge Artist for the Alabama Film “When I Find The Ocean”. He has worked extensively with HBO, Disney, Broadcast Music Industries, Virginia Opera and ballet, Kentucky Opera, West Virginia Dance Co., ABC, NBC, and many others As well as designing the set for “Coppelia”He is currently working on the new set design for the ballet of Vivaldi’s “Gloria” for Montgomery ballet as well as performing as Mother Ginger in “TheNutcracker”. He also was a props specialist on “A Christmas Carol, The Musical” at ASF. |

ELENA COMENDADOR, COSTUME DESIGNER Elena has an extensive background in dance as a performer and teacher. Her costume designs can be seen in Ailey’s II repertoire, which includes Francesca Harper’s Sensory Feast, Troy Powell’s How Small a Thought, Nathan Trice’s Prayer in Discord, Jessica Lang’s Splendid Isolations II, Durrell Moultrie’s most recent work Aspects of a Vibe and Celestial Landscapes. Her designs for choreographer, Jessica Lang, can be seen in ABT II’s Veiled Ceiling and Colorado Ballet’s From Foreign Lands and People (2005) and De Profundis (2007). Her classical ballet designs include The Nutcracker, Coppelia, and Giselle for Connecticut Ballet. In addition, she has worked with choreographers such as Sean Curran, Igal Perry, Kevin Wynn, Scott Rink, Ronald K. Brown, Robert Battle, Max Luna, and Thaddeus Davis, among others. She is on the ballet faculty of both The Ailey School and the Dance Department at Marymount Manhattan College. |

PAUL HILLARD MCRAE, COSTUME DESIGNER Mr. McRae began designing costumes in 1980 for Edward Villella, Ali Poirfarrokh, George Tomal, Robert North, Elie Lazar and Johan Renvall. Mr. McRae is President of Dance/New Jersey, a board member of ArtPride, a resident teaching artist for the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark. He has been Assistant to the Director of New Jersey Ballet Company since 1988. |

GALINA PANOVA, ARTISTIC ADVISOR & COACH Educated in Parma, Russia, under the tutelage of such legendary dancers as Galina Vlanova and Natalia Dudinskaya, Galina Panova went on to capture a gold medal in the 1968 International Ballet Competition. In Varna, Bulgaria, opposite fellow Russian Mikhail Baryshnikov, a long and successful performing career ensued, which featured extensive touring and numerous television appearances including her classic virtuoso performance “Dance in America” at Wolftrap in 1975.
